Philipe Lens
Philipe started his education at the Royal Ballet School Antwerp, at the age of 12 years old. He was introduced to many new modern dance styles there, such as Graham, Limon, Cunningham and many more.
During his 5 years of study at the Royal Ballet School Antwerp, he got the opportunity to compete at the YAGP Catagna / New York, Prix De Lausanne and Korea International Modern Dance Competition. After finishing his education 9 years ago, the formal director Katrine Bennets offered him an internship with the Royal Ballet of Flanders. He is still working there to date, now as a first soloist.
He has had the chance to work with many choreographers, including Marcia Haydée (Sleeping Beauty), Wayne McGregor (Infra), Edward Clug (Les Noces), William Forsythe (Impressing the Czar, In the Middle, Approximate Sonata), Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui (Faun, Fall, Exhibition, Requiem) Ohad Nahari (Secus), Akram Khaan (Kaash), Merc Cunningham (Pond way), John Cranko (Onegin), Alexey Fadeechev (Don Quichot), Maurice Béjart (Bolero), Nicolo Fonte (Made Man), Jiri Kylian (Forgotten Land) and many more.
