teacher non confessional ethics
According to my mother, ‘international solidarity’ are the words I said repeatedly and proudly as a 3-year-old after I heard them on the television news. To understand the theoretical framework, I studied Political and Social Sciences and some Gender Studies modules at the University of Antwerp. Still, I learned most from my pupils during my 20 years of teaching in Civil Education. For the last few years, teaching at the Royal Ballet School Antwerp has been a great pleasure and a new world has opened up for me. Here too I’ve seen how important it is that pupils thoroughly understand themselves and each other. After all, you don't dance alone: you have to be able to rely blindly on your dance partners and the tech and stagehands. In addition to my passion for dance, I want to teach pupils social involvement in an inspiring and motivating way in order to make our dancers critical thinkers.
